About UsAt the Microelectronic Arrays and RF Systems Lab (MARS-Lab), we study high-speed integrated circuits (ICs) as a means to interface with the physical world and interact with it. We are interested in a wide range of physical phenomena and in how they can be translated into measurable signals, with a strong emphasis on architectures for system miniaturization. We are also interested in using large arrays of tiny, low-cost, low-power ICs to sense, process, and communicate—and in the fundamental benefits and limits of doing so.
Although we design integrated circuits, we ground our work in rigorous system-level understanding to keep it tangible and meaningful. While we are an academic experimental research lab, our work has direct practical implications that are closely aligned with industry interests. Our graduates gain the tools and mindset to become future leaders—whether they pursue academic, entrepreneurial, or corporate careers.
